Opaskwayak Cree Nation – Beatrice Wilson Health Centre

OCN had a vision to build an expansion to the existing Beatrice Wilson Health Centre that would ensure its residents, and the residents of the surrounding communities would have access to the best possible health services. LMAG/ESP worked with the OHA steering committee to develop an Architectural Space Program that included a physician’s clinic, renal dialysis, diagnostic services, disability services and integrated traditional healing. The pre-design and site feasibility services included a review of the existing BWHC Phase 1 building; analysis of the existing site and services/utilities; review of adjacent lands for possible acquisition and preliminary pre-design analysis. Subsequently LMAG/ESP prepared block planning options for the 76,000 sq.ft. facility expansion; including implementation opportunities, constraints and project risks. The services also included preparation of outline specifications and a Class ‘D’ Order of Magnitude functional program construction cost estimate.
