University of Manitoba Asper School of Business

Winner of the 2013 Heritage Winnipeg Preservation Award for  Excellence:
Commercial Conservation Award.

Located just steps away from the heart of Winnipeg’s business and financial district, the University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business, Masters Program occupies an entire floor of the heritage Great West Life Building.
LM Architectural Group/Environmental Space Planning are providing a full scope of design services for this heritage renovation which includes: Reception; Learning Commons; large and small classrooms; boardroom; offices; break-out rooms; washrooms; copy room and kitchen. Flexibility was a key factor in the sustainable planning of the space and many of the rooms serve more than one purpose. The entire mechanical and electrical systems have been updated for code, comfort and usability and to provide state-of-the-art audio/visual and wireless access. Heritage considerations include the restoration and duplication of heritage architectural detailing; upgrading of the floor structure; and careful consideration of the application of finishes.
